Martin is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of FloSports. From the time he was in grade school, Martin knew that he wanted to be an entrepreneur. He started his first media company while at college at Cal Poly University in San Luis Obispo.
Martin earned a varsity letter as a Division I college wrestler. During his career in college athletics, he discovered a void in media coverage for sports such as wrestling that fell outside the major four. Martin set out to create a company that would fill this need with high quality content by athletes, for athletes. He moved to Austin, Texas, where, with his brother and Madhu Venkatesan, they built Flocasts.
Starting off by interviewing wrestling coaches and filming matches, Martin’s determination to produce original content for wrestling and other sports matured into FloSports. The company is transforming the sports of wrestling, track and field, cross country, gymnastics, elite fitness, softball, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and bodybuilding with its disruptive media model.
In Aug. 2015, FloSports was named to the top quartile of companies on the 2015 Inc. 5000. In May 2015, FloSports was named to BuiltInAustin.com’s 2015 list of the Top 100 Austin Tech Companies.
Today, Martin resides in Austin with his wife, who is a ballet dance instructor, and their three children.
