FloSports Bolsters College Basketball, Track & Field, Softball, and Baseball Programming in Multiyear Deal with MEAC

MEAC joins SIAC, WCHA, Big 12, Big Ten, and Mountain West in Move to FloSports’  OTT Platform

AUSTIN, Texas — January 17, 2019 — Today, FloSports, the innovator in live digital sports and original content, announced a multiyear partnership with the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) to provide exclusive live and on-demand coverage of nearly 50 events on FloHoops.com, FloTrack.com, FloSoftball.com, and FloLive.tv.

The MEAC is the latest NCAA conference to move some of its regular season games and tournaments to FloSports, following the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA), Mountain West, Big 12, and Big Ten (via the Big Ten Network). As part of the MEAC deal, FloSports will cover 12 men’s regular-season basketball games, two women’s regular-season games, 19 men’s and women’s basketball tournament games, Outdoor Track & Field Conference Championships, Indoor Track & Field Conference Championships, and the championship rounds of the Baseball Conference Tournament, and Softball Conference Tournament.

Entering its 48th year of intercollegiate competition, the MEAC consists of 12 historically black institutions across the Atlantic coastline, and is one of the most outstanding and historied conferences in the nation. The MEAC has earned a series of accomplishments throughout its history, including:

  • Becoming the first HBCU to participate in the National Invitational Tournament in basketball in 1974 (Maryland Eastern Shore).
  • Winning the NCAA College Division II National Championship (Morgan State, 1974).
  • Having three of the eight wins featuring No. 15 seeds vs. No. 2 seeds in the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Tournament (Coppin State def. South Carolina (1997) / Hampton def. Iowa State (2001) / Norfolk State def. Missouri (2012).
  • Producing countless NFL players, including three-time MEAC Offensive Player of the Year Tarik Cohen (North Carolina A&T State), two-time MEAC Defensive Players of the Year Javon Hargrave and Darius Leonard (South Carolina State) and 12 Pro Football Hall of Famers including Harry Carson (South Carolina State), Bob “Bullet” Hayes (Florida A&M) and two-time small-college All-American Willie Lanier (Morgan State).
  • Producing 15 Olympic medalists, including Chris Brown (Norfolk State), Brian Lewis (Norfolk State), Tim Montgomery (Norfolk State) and David Oliver (Howard).

Additionally, the MEAC has produced numerous NBA players, including 2011-12 MEAC Player of the Year and current Indiana Pacers center Kyle O’Quinn (Norfolk State), National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Famer Marvin Webster (Morgan State), Delaware State University Athletics Hall of Famer Emanual Davis (Delaware State), John W. Bunn Lifetime Achievement Award recipient and former Golden State Warriors’ coach and executive Al Attles (North Carolina A&T), and NBA Champion Larry Spriggs (Howard).
