AUSTIN, Texas (Sept. 30, 2015) – FloSports announced today it will launch a new site Oct. 1 catering exclusively to the cheerleading community. FloCheer will provide live and on-demand coverage of elite cheer competitions across the U.S., as well as breaking news, original documentaries, technique videos and more.
FloCheer will be FloSports’ ninth dedicated sports vertical, joining FloWrestling, FloGrappling, FloTrack, MileSplit, FloElite, FloSoftball, FloMuscle and Gymnastike.
“With more than 3 million cheerleaders in the U.S., we’re really excited to bring our unique approach to live events and coverage to this growing community,” FloSports co-founder and CEO Martin Floreani said. “You won’t find more passionate athletes and fans than those in cheerleading, and we’re excited to get started.”
FloCheer’s launch Oct. 1 coincides with the site’s first live stream Oct. 4 featuring JAMfest in Louisville, Kent. With 70 cheerleading squads from across Kentucky and beyond participating, JAMfest is one of JAMbrands’ most popular events.
The general manager of FloCheer is Monica Bloodgood, who has more than 17 years of management experience in the cheer industry, including judging numerous college and high school cheerleading championships as well as coordinating major events such as the Pro Bowl halftime show in Hawaii.
“Cheerleaders finally have their very own platform to highlight the hard work that goes into being an elite cheer athlete,” Bloodgood said. “We have amazing resources and contributors who share their passion and are committed to making FloCheer the go-to, 24/7 news source for every cheer athlete across the globe.
