Deal furthers FloHoops’ leadership in high school basketball coverage
AUSTIN, Texas — October 31, 2018 — Today, FloSports, the innovator in live digital sports and original content, and the Montverde Academy boys varsity basketball team announced a historic partnership. All eight of Montverde Academy’s home regular season games for the 2018-19 season, including the Montverde Academy Invitational Tournament (MAIT), will be aired live and on-demand to a worldwide audience exclusively on FloHoops.com. This makes Montverde Academy the first high school basketball program to have a live digital streaming deal.
Located outside Orlando, Fla., the Montverde Academy boys varsity basketball program has been called “The Team of the Decade” by USA Today and has won four high school national championships since 2012. The program is led by five-time National High School Coach of the Year Kevin Boyle. The program’s most notable players recently are Philadelphia 76ers 2018 NBA Rookie of the Year Ben Simmons, his 76ers teammate Joel Embiid, and 2015 NBA Draft No. 2 overall pick and current Brooklyn Nets guard D’Angelo Russell.
The MAIT will air exclusively on FloHoops.com from Jan. 24-26, 2019. This year’s field features seven elite programs from across the country including:
- The Villages School (The Villages, Fla.)
- Long Island Lutheran High School (Long Island, N.Y.)
- Rancho Christian (Temecula, Calif.)
- Westminster Academy (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.)
- Vashon High School (St. Louis, Mo.)
- Wasatch Academy (Mt. Pleasant, Utah)
- Leesburg High School (Leesburg, Fla.)
FloHoops will also live stream Montverde Academy’s regular season contests against The First Academy (Orlando, Fla.), Providence High School (Jacksonville, Fla.), Admiral Farragut Academy (St. Petersburg, Fla.), Miami Christian School, and Lake Gibson High School (Lake Gibson, Fla.).

In addition to Montverde Academy, FloHoops will broadcast some of the top boys’ high school tournaments and players this season. In the Class of 2019, nine of the Top 20 players will play on FloHoops this season, including Vernon Carey (University School, Fla.), Cole Anthony (Oak Hill Academy, Va.), Trendon Watford (Mountain Brook, Ala.), and Cassius Stanley (Sierra Canyon, Calif.). In the Class of 2020, six of the Top 20 players are on FloHoops’ schedule this season, including Scottie Barnes (University School, Fla.), Nico Mannion (Pinnacle, Ariz.), Kyree Walker (Hillcrest Prep, Ariz.), and Noah Farrakhan (IMG Academy, Fla.).
